Medicaid Coverage Win in New Hampshire

In June, NH Legislation passed HB2, which requires NH DHHS Office of Medicaid Services to cover all lives for tobacco treatment counseling. Previously, tobacco treatment counseling was covered for pregnant women only. Milliman Actuaries forecasted a $600,000 annual cost to provide this benefit. The NH DHHS 2024-2025 bi-annual budget includes $1.2M to cover these costs. NH DHHS will release the next Request for Proposals for Medicaid Managed Care Organizations in Fall 2023 and a State Plan Amendment will be submitted to CMS, as well.
