It has been an exciting week for the entire quitline community! We would like to end the week with two great updates:

- Canada has made great progress on its warning label rule. The rule has been approved by a standing committee andthe House of Commons as a whole. Next step is for the Treasury Board, aCabinet Committee to give final approval. After that, the rule must be registered within 7 days. New warning labels will be required on all cigarette packs at manufacturing level 180 days after the registration, and at retail level 270 days after registration.

 - NAQC anticipates that the CMS's announcement, noted in US warning label rule, will be made before July 1. This announcement will allow state quitlines to be reimbursed by state Medicaid programs.
We will keep you updated as new information is released!
