Latest Reports from the New York Bureau of Tobacco Control Highlighting the Return on Investment

An infographic titled Return on Investment of the New York Tobacco Control Program shows how reductions in adult smoking resulted in substantial cost savings and thousands of lives saved. New York State achieves a $15 return on investment for every dollar spent on its comprehensive Tobacco Control Program.
 
A report titled 
Highlights from the 2022 New York Youth Tobacco Survey highlights declining trends in any tobacco product use from 2018 to 2022 (30.6% to 21.1%). While overall rates are lower, the proportion of high school students who reported vaping on at least 20 days in the past month increased from 1.9% in 2014 to 7.9% in 2022. Fortunately, 54.8% of both middle school and high school students report they would like to quit vaping.
