Comprehensive commercial tobacco prevention and control efforts include expanding access to cessation services, yet recent reductions in federal funding and infrastructure have significantly disrupted progress. In response, the CDC Foundation conducted a rapid landscape assessment in September 2025 to evaluate the current state of tobacco cessation initiatives and identify emerging needs. Feedback was collected from 61 participants representing 35 states and organizations, providing a snapshot of ongoing challenges and opportunities in sustaining tobacco control across the United States.
