Upcoming Webinar Series: Within & Beyond the Walls of Healthcare

Commercial tobacco use remains a significant public health challenge, particularly among populations that experience barriers to accessing healthcare and treatment services. Improving access to evidence‑based tobacco treatment requires coordinated action across healthcare, public health, and community settings.

Consistent with the community-clinical linkage framework described in National Cancer Institute Monograph 22, this new webinar series “Within & Beyond the Walls of Healthcare: Building Tobacco Treatment Referral Networks Through Community Partnerships” will explore how organizations across sectors can work together to strengthen referral networks and expand access to commercial tobacco treatment services. Through real‑world examples and practical implementation strategies, participants will learn how partnerships, referral systems, electronic referrals, and community‑clinical linkages can strengthen care coordination and improve access to treatment.

The CDC National Network SelfMade Health Network (SMHN), in partnership with the North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC), is hosting this series to highlight innovative partnership models, referral strategies, and implementation approaches that strengthen connections to evidence‑based tobacco treatment services. Sessions will feature speakers from healthcare systems, state programs, community‑based organizations, and partners working with 211 and other community referral hubs.
