Nicotine Pouch Sales Data (January 2020 - May 2026)

CDC Foundation’s Monitoring Tobacco Project has released a new Nicotine Pouch Sales Data Brief (Issue 5) that highlights trends in nicotine pouch sales from January 2020 – May 2026. The brief includes data for the United States overall and for California, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.

Since 2023, nicotine pouch sales in the United States have been rapidly increasing. Total U.S. monthly nicotine pouch sales more than quadrupled, increasing by 319.3%, between January 2023 and May 2026. The average price per pouch was $0.33 nationally as of May 2026.
