Dear Colleagues,
The World Health Organization (WHO) has just released
their new manual, Developing
and improving national toll-free tobacco quit line services. Although
this manual is intended for middle and low income countries in the early stages
of quitline development, we recommend it as a resource to all members. The
manual provides technical advice and case examples for establishing and
operating a national quitline service. Topics include choosing appropriate
service delivery options, optimizing population coverage and utilization,
and partnerships with health-care systems. This manual is intended to
guide implementation of Article 14 of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco
Control.
