Update on the Joint Commission Tobacco Cessation Performance Measure Set

The New England Journal of Medicine has published a Perspectives on the Joint Commission's new tobacco cessation performance measure-set, which were implemented on January 1, 2012. The manuscript (located here) summarizes the tobacco cessation performance measures and challenges hospitals to "do the right thing" and adopt this optional measure set.
